About us

Welcome to Wide Bay Trail Riders (WBTR) Est. 2003

Do you like to have FUN with your horse? Do you love Camping? How about seeing parts of Queensland that few others do?

Join our members who enjoy the country lifestyle of camping with their horses and the mateship of great people from all walks of life. Of course, the camp fire and a tall tale at the end of the day is the icing on the cake.

Our locations range from the coastal regions from Gympie to Gladstone and inland regions with parts of the National Trail being incorporated in our rides. WBTR ride in a variety of terrains from the beautiful hill scenery of Mothar Mountain in Gympie, out to the country feel of Biggenden and up to the timbered slopes of Mount Perry and of course we can’t exclude cantering along in the sands of Coonar beach. Just have a look at some photos of our rides!

WBTR organise numerous rides between March and October. You can find out what’s coming up on our Ride Calendar page and details of the next rides are always published in our WBTR Pony Express.

Whether you are new to trail riding or an old hand, you’re sure to find some handy hints and tips in our blog Trail Riding 101. Or you can download the whole series as a free eBook.

To find out how our club works, have a read of our guide for new riders which summarises what is required and how we do things.

So get that horse of yours out of it’s paddock, dust off your saddle and come along to join in the fun!

Just drop us a line from our Contacts page and you’re almost there!

See you soon!
