Childers Day Ride 29th July 2023
Length of Ride (approx) | Saturday: about 15-20 km, 3-4 hours plus breaks |
Terrain (grade 1-easiest to grade 5 hardest) | Saturday: grade 1 – easy flat |
Horse/Rider suitability | Saturday: Novice to intermediate (some water crossings, able to trot) |
Cost | WBTR Members (TRA-bring member# and PIC#) nil Membership is $80 for the calendar year for adults Non-members $25 PER DAY (please bring filled in day member form and correct money with you) |
Start times | Saturday: Be at the trailhead by 8:30am for paperwork etc |
Facilities | None |
What to bring | Lead ropes. Saddle bags for lunch, a water bottle to carry on the ride |
Other important notes | You are welcome to camp at my place but you will have to float your horse to the trailhead – about 10-15 minutes Dogs are not allowed If your horse tends to kick it MUST have a red ribbon in the tail. Gundiah Weekend 1/2 July 2023
Length of Ride (approx) | Saturday: 20ish km 4 hours plus breaks Sunday: 8-10 km approx. 1-1/2 to 2 hours |
Terrain (grade 1-easiest to grade 5 hardest) | Saturday: Grade 2-3 – Shoes or boots strongly recommended for all horses. Sunday: Grade 2 – Still a bit rocky in sections, seasoned barefoot horses should be OK. |
Horse/Rider suitability | Saturday: 20ish Klms, 4 hours plus breaks. Novice rider suitablility OK, Rough gravel roads – no soft verge. Some forestry tracks, creek crossings, tree dodging, small hills. OK for horses not in peak fitness. Sunday: 10Kms – 1-2 hrs. Novice OK. Around paddocks, again some rocky tracks, creek crossing, tree dodging and small hills – BUT not the hard rocky roads of Saturday ride. |

What to bring | Camping equipment, electric fencing or portable yards, horse feed, lead ropes. Saddle bags for lunches and smokos, and all people food and water. |
Other important notes | You can arrive on Friday but please AFTER 4pm! Dogs are Not allowed If your horse tends to kick it MUST have a red ribbon in the tail. Bidwill Forestry Weekend
Bidwill Weekend 27th and 28th May 2023
Length of Ride (approx) | Saturday: 26 km approx, 4-5 hours plus breaks Sunday: 2 hours |
Terrain (grade 1-easiest to grade 5 hardest) | Saturday: grade 2 Sunday: grade 1 Riding the Tuan forestry and private property, sections of gravel, shoes or boots recommended |
Horse/Rider suitability | Saturday: intermediate Sunday: Novice |
Cost | WBTR Members (TRA-bring member# and PIC#) nil Membership is $80 for the calendar year for adults Non-members $25 PER DAY (please bring filled in day member form and correct money with you) |

Dogs are not allowed Camp oven dinner supplied on Friday night as the Host’s contribution to WBTR’s 20 years – non riding previous members are also welcome – MUST RSVP for catering purposes.
